![]() ![]() I will say though that I did find the featured characters to be interesting at least, except for the protagonist, because he's very bland and his dialogue is monotone as hell. It felt intentionally left open for a sequel or DLC, which is lame. I began to feel like it was rushing towards its conclusion and the ending was pretty abrupt and unsatisfying. However, the plot started to get muddy in the middle of the game. I was really into the themes that were tackled and I loved the worldbuilding. The story has a very engaging and interesting start, especially as someone who has only played Mercenaries before. This game starts off strong but fizzles out and ends pretty poorly. But if it's ever 5 bucks and you just want to shoot some stuff, iz shiny & nice, and well-optimized considering how pretty it is ten years later.Ĩh 21m PlayedI only played the single-player campaign because I don't give a shit about multiplayer so this review is for the campaign only. ![]() At that price (which I assume is due to the posterity of its launch-title status), it's not worth it. Bad news? It's STILL $9.99 on-sale, even AFTER Sony killed the servers. Plus all the priced-to-play DLC maps are now available for free, and ALL of them work in botmatch (take THAT, "Battlefront"!). It's that damned drone, and the stealth: I don't care, and I don't wanna. But! Yes, you can pause in the middle of a botmatch! No, playing with sound is not crucial! Yes, you can set a long Team Deathmatch on all maps with just Assault class on Hard difficulty with no HUD and pretend you're playing the kick-ass Killzone campaign that "4" just does not have. Yes, it's unfortunate that you have to wait 30 seconds before getting into a match. Yes, it's unfortunate that the multiplayer servers are shut down now and as a result you can't customize the "perfect" Warzone and save it: you have to manually change the options every time. ![]() And per-usual, "Killzone" kinda-sorta nails this. 3h ProgressReview is for the botmatch only. ![]()
